several people, including myself, would like to do something concrete to show our concerns re: his treatment by the jw, and how important he was to all of us here.

i suggested a handwritten note, on behalf of the whole community here, flowers, and perhaps a donation to a charity that helps people get back on their feet.

Darth Frosty- I hope you are wrong. Trying to keep the friendship is different than trying to help friends awaken. If my "friends" never spoke to me again- but they were no longer under MIND CONTROL, I would get over it and be grateful and happy for them that they are no longer controlled. Sure, it WOULD HURT ME, but I love them, I want to help them now that I know TTATT.

That was a good story. I liked that Carolyn Ivey Evans wrote a letter of gratitude to the lawyer, Joel Cohen who's action saved her life.

I cannot help to think how devastated her parents would have been had she also died, as they ultimately left the "Truth". I'm glad her mom doesn't have to live with that decision and that she has a forgiving daughter.

I also like that she donated her children's cord blood to help others.

i suddenly realized that this board has the same methods at its disposal as the watchtower and it will use them.

and there's no appeal.. i am so saddened by this i feel like killing myself.

this was my last refuge of being able to discuss things that are on my mind.. and now i see there is no hope.

Hi Scotoma, people are people no matter where. It's just when people are anonymous, they sometimes feel they do not need to censor or be tactful with their words. And even those that try can sometimes put their foot in their mouth. I know, because I have done it.

I will never tell a person not to feel what they feel. I am sorry that you are feeling so desperate. Please do not despair, Scotoma. There ARE people here who care about you and care about what you have to say.

I think what Diest and Mouthy and Ksol and Phizzy all said is valid, Sometimes timing IS everything. Sometimes we need to know that there's a hand waiting for us to grab onto. Sometimes we need to turn off the computer and step away. And sometimes the advice given by someone who has been there is like a life-line.

We are glad you are here, Scotoma.

and i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.

but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .

how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?
